Year 3 and 4 kick started their new topic with a visit to Flag Fen this week where they learnt all about the Stone Age.

The children sat inside a real roundhouse with a fire, they handled real artefacts and had a go at hunting a deer with spears. They made their own paint for rock painting, they made prehistoric pots with clay and they even used real wattle and daub to have a go at building their own wall complete with horse poo! I’m not sure how successful their houses would have been, I think we would have got very cold and very wet!

It was a great day and a great way to start our learning this term.
