Ancient Egypt Day
Last Friday, Purple Class travelled back in time thousands of years to enjoy a wonderful day in Ancient Egypt!
Miss McBlain, Mrs Taylor and the children dressed up in costumes to make the day feel much more real - Pharaohs, Scribes and even a mummy took part in the day!
The children enjoyed lots of different activities from making Tigernut sweets - a delicacy in Ancient Egypt and a favourite of the Pharaohs, listening to ancient Egyptian music, creating jewellery, writing in hieroglyphics and making mummies.
The day ended with a great Pharaohs feast where the children had the opportunity to taste food and drink from ancient Egyptian time and the sweets they had made earlier in the day.
Overall the children thoroughly enjoyed the day and it was the perfect way to end our interesting history topic.
