Autumn 2
This term over topic is CITY AND VILLAGE LIFE.
We kicked off our term by having a walk around Polebrook village, looking at landmarks and features of a village. We even saw some of our own houses!
We compared our village to our nearest city, Peterborough, when we went on a trip to Peterborough Cathedral. This trip taught us all about why we celebrate Christmas and the importance of the celebration. We were able to tell all the teachers at the cathedral all about our learning that we have been doing in RE. They were so impressed! We even went on a guided tour of Peterborough. We saw all of the different landmarks and features of a city so we could compare.
We wrote our own stories this term based on the book, Peace at Last. Our characters went on adventures in familiar places and caused all sorts of mischief!
We couldn’t not mention our fantastic nativity! We all worked so hard to learn our lines, sing our songs and dance! It was a huge success with lots of happy faces on performance night!
