Spring 2017
End of SATs Celebration
Purple Class Year 6's celebrated the ending of their SATs by learning how to make a camp fire down at forest school.
Mrs Wilcoxson showed the children how to safely prepare the fire starting with finding different sized sticks that must be deadwood. The children then learnt safety rules for having a fire outside and what to do in an emergency.
Once the fire was lit, the staff prepared sausages for the children to eat! It was amazing to watch the sausages cook on a fire prepared by Purple Class!
After the delicious sausages, the children ended their meal by toasting marshmallows on the fire.
Whilst the fire died down, Purple Class played some favourite forest games including 'foxes and mice' and then came back to the circle to ensure the fire was safely out before heading back to school.
