Autumn 1
What a fantastic term we are having!
This term our topic is ANIMALS.
We have been lucky enough to have had a special visitor who brought in a variety of different animals for us to have a look at, we even got to hold some of them! There are some photos of our experience at the bottom of this page.
We even labelled and wrote captions for some of the animals during our literacy lessons. We knew we needed capital letters, full stops and even sometimes commas!
We decided our class name this term, we chose David Attenborough. We chose this name for our class because we think he is a truly inspirational person and we are so interested in the work that he does.
Maths has been super exciting this term, we have learnt of lots of different ways to partition numbers and how to use that to add and subtract. The whole class has thought about their growth mindset and has shown great resilience.
In Art, we used observational drawings to draw different animals and experimented with wax crayon and paint to see the effects that they would have.
We have enjoyed learning our new sounds in Phonics and looking at the different relationships between sounds. We have enjoyed reading our reading books and have been inspired to write stories in our free time.
We cannot wait for Term 2!
