What happened to Britain when the Romans left?

We were very excited to have a real life Anglo-Saxon in to help us answer the question!

The children had a go at reinacting an Anglo-Saxon battle. They got to handle some of the weapons and then played some board games and practiced being archaeologists. In the afternoon they had a Witan, which is a meeting where all the important Anglo-Saxon people get together to make important decisions. Unfortunately, we made some pretty bad ones and would have ended up escaping to the marshes while the Vikings invaded!

In literacy we read Arthur and the Golden Rope and wrote our own myths to share with our parents. We enjoyed learning about all the different Anglo-Saxon Gods and monsters!

Our end of term performance was Shakespeare Rocks. The children were all fantastic and it was another wonderful performance from everybody!
