Spring Term
Skipping Workshop
We have been busy using our “Exporasaurus” skills today. We had lots of fun learning new skills and keeping fit at the skipping workshop. We can’t wait to try out our new skipping ropes and fancy tricks at playtime.
Planting our Strawberry Patch
As part of our sparkling start for our science topic – How do strawberries grow? We have been observing strawberry seeds using hand lenses and drawing what we could see. Then we worked together to plant our seeds and watered them. We made a rota to take it in turns to look after the seedlings and we have been watching them grow! We can’t wait to harvest the strawberries and put them in our fruit salad.
Fruit Salad
We have been exploring shop bought fruit salad using all of our senses. We tried to guess what fruits we could identify. It was quite tricky! We discussed what we liked and disliked to help us plan our own fruit salad.
Gruffalo Sculptures
We experimented with different pens, pencils and pastels. We sketched key features of the Gruffalo. We folded and twisted paper to create 3D effects. We created 3D Gruffalo sculptures. We had to persevere to shape the wire for his legs so that he could stand up! This was a challenge and we had to use our “Thinkosaurus” brains to problem solve and find another way. We created a Gruffalo exhibition and invited our families to come and visit it.
Snow Day Surprise!
We had a lovely time playing with our friends in the snow today!
