Christmas 2022

Our Amazing KS2 children opened our Carol Service with a stunning instrumental rendition of Christmas Canon.

What a fabulous finish to our Ring of Fire topic!

The children worked hard to create their volcanoes after spending time developing their texture skills in Art and DT.
We then erupted our volcanoes - some were shield volcanoes, others were composite volcanoes! Therefore, some oozed out lava while others had a sudden and violent eruption!

Our Composite Volcano certainly was explosive!

Samba Performance!

As part of our Ring of Fire topic, we have borrowed some amazing Samba instruments from NMPAT and created our own piece of Samba music!

Thank you so much to Mrs Bryant, our specialist music teacher, for teaching us about Samba music from rhythm to pace to creativity!

The children then performed their piece to all of the children, staff and parents as part of our celebration assembly - it was amazing (and very loud!)

MLK and David Attenborough Class took part in a shared story time! Both Classes shared their end of unit writing with one another. DA Class wrote some amazing stories and MLK shared their Galapagos Island setting descriptions.
It was amazing to see Year groups at either end of the school come together and share their joy of reading and writing in their EPIC Writing books!

Harvest Live! 2022
KS2 took part in Harvest Live! A live assembly teaching the children about the journey crops make to our dinner plates. It was focused on Carbon-Crunching Carrots! I don’t think they will look at a carrot the same way again! The children were fascinated to learn all about the process of growing crops and the natural protectors keeping our carrots safe while they grow – ask your child about nematodes!

Exploring like Charles Darwin...

MLK had a fantastic time exploring our local area as part of their sparkly start for our Evolution topic! We were inspired by Charles Darwin, who is our Amazing Person focus this term, and took the time to immense ourselves in nature as he did everyday and spend time focusing on the living things around us!
