Self portraits

We started the year by looking at the work of Chuck Close and the children were inspired to create their own self portraits based on his work. They have done a fantastic job!

What is the earth made of?

We started our topic by going on a rock walk in the vilage to collect rocks. We compared them back in class and tried to describe them. We then turned them into our very own rock pets!

We then used starbursts to help us learn how rocks are formed and what the 3 different types are.  We also got to eat our rocks at the end!
