Spring 2
Our big question this term is ‘How can we make our drawings come to life?’
The children read ‘Into the forest’ by Anthony Browne and created their own forest setting by using their observational drawing skills. They thought about how to make their forest look like different objects like Anthony Browne does in his illustrations.
In writing this term SW class have been looking at setting descriptions and their final piece is a description of their forest.
The children then learnt about animation and created a moving character for their background using iPads.

In science we have been learning about light.
The children tested different materials to see which was the most reflective. They used what they had learnt to make Mrs Bryant’s dog Otis, a collar to keep him safe at night.
The children explored which materials made the best shadows and they drew their own shadows on the playground at different times of the day to see how they moved. The results were surprising!
In March, all of KS2 took part in the Northamptonshire ‘Big Sing’ run by NMPAT.
They were part of the mass choir for a performance of School of rock. They sang brilliantly!
