Polebrook C E Primary School

Spring 2

DT

The children had to create a 3D product from a 2D product and made purses for their mums for mothers day. They planned what shape the pieces of material needed to be and what stitching to use - they were amazing!

How can we create art using shape and colour?

The children explored how Matisse used cut outs in his art and used this idea to create their own artwork inspired by the text Fox by Margaret Wild and Ron Brooks.

After reading this text, the children wrote their own narrative about betrayal.

To link to our music, the children chose a picture or piece of text from the book to create their own mood music. They explored what timbre meant and how composers choose instruments based on their timbre to create specific moods.
