This term our big question is "How can we make our drawings come to life?"

To invesigate this we have been looking at animations in our art lessons. We learnt about Lauren Child and Roos Mattar, then practiced different techniques. We made flic books and then used a computer programme to animate our drawings. We then designed a background and a character and used Imovie to animate a short film.

In science we have been learning about light and shadow. We used a smoke machine and a lasor to see the light travelling in straight lines and we were able to pass the beam of light to each other using mirrors!

We also drew our shadows on the playground to see how they changed during the day and were amazed to see them change size and direction!

In music we learnt about what an ostinato is and played the piece Olympic ostinato by Sarah Watts in our whole school music and arts concert. It was a hit!
