A wonderful memorable May Day
Fri 23 May 2025Typical English weather was not on our side yesterday for our May Day celebrations. I think it was the coldest day we have had in a while and parents were wrapped up in coats and blankets (and one even had a hot water bottle!) but at least it stayed dry!
But that did not deter our hardy children in all their beautiful summer outfits from shining.
They entertained us with their singing, remembered all their dances and all had a wonderful time.
Huge thanks must go to our amazing families working behind the scenes with the flower decorations and sound system etc.

Success at Oundle KidLit Writing Competition 2025
Thu 22 May 2025A huge well done to all our Year 5 and 6 children that entered this year's Oundle KidLit Writing Competition, this years theme was 'The Earth'
The judges said they loved reading every one of the entries and judging was very difficult.
The judges selected a runner up from our Year 5 class and from Year 6 we had two runners up and the overall winner.
Congratulations to our winners.

EYFS enjoy a morning of sports.
Wed 21 May 2025Frida Kahlo Class had a brilliant time on Monday. Running, skipping, jumping and throwing at the EYFS Sports Morning at Ketton.
The children were fantastic Tryasuaruses and Respectasauruses and enjoyed making new friends with other children from The Rutland Trust. They particularly enjoyed having their packed lunches outside together and were definitely very hungry after all their exercise.

Eco Council support Earth Day
Tue 22 Apr 2025Despite being the first day back to school our Eco Council Team have been busy litter picking up around school in support of Earth Day. A couple of the team also created posters.

Year 5 and 6 perform in the Pied Piper
Fri 04 Apr 2025Some of our Year 5/6 children took part in NMPAT and Rutland Music’s Big Sing concert this week at De Montfort Hall in Leicester.
The children sung a range of inspiring songs including our favourite “Power in Me”. They then took part in performing songs in the musical Pied Piper.
Our children were fabulous ambassadors of our school and it was incredible to see them perform on such a big stage!

Amazing total raised at the book fair!
Wed 19 Mar 2025Wow! An incredible amount raised to spend on books for the library.
Thank you so much for your amazing support.
Also to FOPS friends of polebrook school for their donation to purchase books at the fair.
In total we have had £916.40 to spend on super new books for the children.

Year 3 maths challenge
Fri 14 Mar 2025Yesterday, four Year 3 children went to a maths afternoon at Laxton Junior school.
They had to apply all their maths knowledge to answer lots of different questions and we came second!
They also represented our school brilliantly and were polite and great at showing team work.
A huge well done!

A chemistry experience for our Year 5s
Mon 03 Feb 2025The Year 5s enjoyed their second STEM event at Oundle School.
This time the focus was on chemistry!
The children investigated dissolving salts and sugars in different liquids.
The adults were incredibly impressed with their discussions and focus on their experiments.
