Blog 2019-2020

In Science this week we have been learning about how different rocks are made. We used Starburst and of course we got to eat them after!

We travelled back in time today to the Roman era. We made working aqueducts, edible Roman roads, mosaics and we even had a go at being archaeologists!

We have been busy learning about Roman numerals. Can you guess the numbers we have made?

A big thank you to all the parents who came in before half term to listen to Blue classes stories. The children had been working on writing stories with historical settings linked to their Roman topic. They were great and it was lovely to have an audience to share them with. As a bonus parents were treated to our Roman army dance with our Roman shields too!

Our topic this term is Romans on the Rampage!

We started our topic by thinking about where we would travel if we could go back in time and what sort of things we would like to find out.

For homework the children were tasked with designing a time machine. They went above and beyond and built them as well. They were fantastic, well done!

Maths

In maths this term we have been learning about number and place value. This week we have been thinking about negative numbers. We went in the hall and in teams we had to order a set of numbers and explain how we did it.

Music

The children are busy practising for our Young Voices trip to Birmingham on the 28th January. Make sure you log onto the Young Voices website and learn the songs and dance moves at home!
