October 2014

It was the last session for Green Class for a few weeks and we were treating ourselves to hot chocolate.

Everyone was helping to collect firewood to heat the water.

The storm kettle has a hollow middle which allows the fire and smoke to come through and heat the water inside.
Once enough dry sticks had been collect the fire could be started in the base of the storm kettle

Then the kettle was placed on top.

And not too much later the hot chocolate was ready!

As we were trying to use all our senses in this session, we finished off by lying back to look at the tree canopy and the clouds in the sky.
