On Wednesday 23rd September 2015, Purple Class visited the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge to look at the Ancient Egypt exhibition. As we have been studying this topic, it was a very exciting opportunity to be able to bring our learning to life by looking at ancient artefacts from thousands of years ago. When we arrived we were greeted by an enormous sarcophagus of Pharaoh Rameses III and a tour guide took us on a learning adventure through the rooms. Throughout the day, Purple Class learnt about mummification and seen real mummies! That was definitely the best part of the day for many of us. Whilst we also discover that the Ancient Egyptians are quite similar to us and alot of what we use today was previously invented by the Egyptians, including sunglasses, board games, paper and lots of other interesting things. The trip was an incredible experience and we can't wait to visit the museum again!
