Polebrook C of E Primary School

Spectacular Summer Fete!

This Saturday, June 15th, Polebrook's annual Summer Fete took place at the school and what a wonderful day it was!

Despite the odd moment of typical British rain, the weather was in our favour and lots of people took part in organising a range of stalls, competitions and games.

There were some very competitive games taking place from: marbles in a pot, name the teddy, penalty shootout and sweets in a jar. While many tried their luck on the tombola and raffle - with lots of prizes being won!

The bakeoff juding is a very difficult job for anybody, having to decide which cake tastes and looks the best certainly caused some deep discussion between the judges as the competition this year was outstanding.

As it was Queen Elizabeth's 90th birthday this year, the children of Polebrook were asked to design a crown for the fete. It could have been made from any material, in any style, aslong as it was wearable. Each class made a wide range of crowns, some had jewels, others had flowers and there was even the odd Corgi on some of them! It was so impressive to see the creativity from the children and the effort they had gone to, to make them - once again, judging was very very difficult.

The whole day was amazing and the support from parents, Friends of Polebrook and the community was what truly made the day special. Thankyou to everybody that took part in the day, we look forward to next year!
