A visit from the firefighters.

We had a very exciting day when the fire engine came to school.

Firefighters help to keep us safe by putting out fires, rescuing people from floods and car accidents. They rescue animals too, and also teach us how to stay safe and avoid fires.

First we found out about the special clothes the fire fighters wear to protect them from fire.

We found out what to do if clothes catch fire.

We went outside to see the fire engine. It was amazing.

We were very lucky to be able to sit inside where the crew sit.

The fire fighters let us try the hose. It was very exciting pointing the hose!

The water came out very quickly.

The fire fighters said goodbye and left with the lights flashing and sirens sounding.
